Peer Mixer with Sounds Queer: Progress, challenges and ambitions of queer music artists today

In 2024, it’s clear that the representation of queer artists is better than it’s ever been. However, that can be at odds with the lived experiences and barriers faced by queer artists trying to forge careers in the industry.

In the next of our peer mixer events we’ll be exploring some of the challenges and barriers faced by artists, from wellbeing, to finances and issues around discrimination. With insights from, and the opportunity to ask direct questions to, a diverse panel of queer people working in the industry.

The event will include an hour-long panel and Q+A, a live performance from a queer artist and the opportunity to socialise, connect and share knowledge with people who have shared lived experiences.
