Session runs from 6 – 7pm

What is music publishing, and why does it matter for artists who write or co-write their own songs, as well as composers and songwriters creating for others?

In this session, we’ll break down the role of music publishers and Collective Management Organisations (CMOs), explaining how they work and what they offer to music creators. You’ll also get an introduction to music publishing deals and learn how money flows from the use of a song back to its writer.

Andy Edwards is a music executive, artist manager, and advisor. He’s worked with BMG, Sony, and artists like U2 and Lauryn Hill. Known for artist management and his role as a Music Managers Forum director, Andy also advocates for neurodiversity in music.

This event is part of our Business Skills for Musicians series.
