King Charles III announced as Patron of Help Musicians
Royal Patronage announced to mark first anniversary of the Coronation
We are delighted that Buckingham Palace have confirmed that His Majesty The King will be Help Musicians’ Patron.
Help Musicians, alongside a number of other UK charities, has been granted this Patronage to mark the first anniversary of the King’s Coronation.
Since forming in 1921 as the Musicians’ Benevolent Fund, the charity has been immensely fortunate to benefit from the patronage of the Royal Family, with King Charles III following George V, George VI and Elizabeth II in being the charity’s Royal Patron.
His Majesty has been a lifelong supporter of the arts, and his well-documented passion for music was clearly evident through his commissioning of twelve new pieces for the Coronation from world-renowned British composers.
We share the King’s love of music. For 103 years we have been supporting musicians across the UK in times of crisis and opportunity, and we are deeply grateful for His Majesty’s support.
